Today our project MAC4U ended with a visit at the Euromold fair in Frankfurt together with our project partners from CAS Software AG and CP Center for Prototyping.
You have missed the online exhibition? No problem! The keynote by Professor Ritz on "Usability for Mobile – From SmartPhone To Smart Watch" [in German] can be watched on our > YouTube Channel.
With our "3-3-5 Creativity Method" many ideas can be generated with little effort. Today, 3 of our employees we have developed 3 ideas for new mobility services in 5 minutes.
With the self-developed dice and combined creativity an organizational system was developed which organizes the bus route to the airport for travelers, automatically recalculates and changes tickets in case of driving and flight schedule deviations. Finally, it leads the pedestrian via live view assistant to the correct bus stops and terminals.
Have you ever attended an online fair? No? Then it's time!
Register now for free online exhibition " Einfach intuitiv – Usability für den Mittelstand" on 30th October 2014 at: www.ubivent.com/registration/bitmi-usability-2014
At the fair you can watch not only exciting lectures on usability (Professor Ritz is also presenting a keynote!), but you can also exchange with experts and other participants and get information material.
Today, our 5 student groups presented their multimedia projects and transformed our floor in a retail landscape of the future.

This week Thomas Ritz und Britta Fuchs participated at the > International Conference on e-Business from 28th to 30th of August and presented the paper "Usability for Blended Shopping – Solving Major Flaws by Applying Usability Engineering and Proven Integration Technologies".
From the 2nd to 3rd of June we provided the second workshop for "Prototyping for interactive Systems" – in relation to our project > KompUEterchen4KMU. The participating software developers and designers were offered theoretical information as well as hands-on experiences. The workshop was focused on mobile applications and the specific conditions that have to be taken into consideration in contrast to the development of desktop applications. After the theory lessons, the participants worked on applying the information on prototyping- and design methods.
After two days on the M-Days fair, we can speak of a successful performance. On the fair for mobile business visitors were informed about our projects > KompUEterchen4KMU and > eBusiness-Lotse Aachen and they could test our prototypic software for individualizing 3D-printable products as a result of our project > MAC4U.
More information about the fair:
On the 28th of April we offered a workshop for "Usability Engineering" in relation to our project > KompUEterchen4KMU.
On two days developers, designers and product managers met to extend their knowledge about Usability Engineering. Besides the theoretical input from Prof. Thomas Ritz about the importance of usability aspects and usability methods during the process of software development, the participants also performed own test sessions.
With examplaric scenarios the participants applied the learned methods, developed prototypes of an application and tested its usability. This way, theory was directly put into practice. Also, own experiences with usability issues during software development could be exchanged.
This week Ramona Wallenborn and Kirsten Siekmann attended the > Direct Digital Manufacturing Conference in Berlin to present their scientific paper "Additive Manufacturing Businesses in the Process Chain of individualized Mass Products".
They presented research results from the project > MAC4U, in which a concept for the integration of service providers in the field of B2C additive manufacturing was acquired. In this context an automated process chain and an application for mass customization were developed.
